About Me

Dr. Alan Fiester, Ph.D. has been practicing Clinical Psychology in Jupiter/Tequesta for the past 29 years. Dr. Fiester obtained his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Illinois, and Masters and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Miami University (Ohio) in 1974. He completed a one year post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Illinois Medical Center Neuropsychiatric Institute in Chicago in 1975. Then, he relocated to Palm Beach County and worked at the Community Mental Health Center in West Palm Beach in various administrative positions for the next 6 years. He was licensed to practice Psychology in Florida in 1976 and established his independent practice in Jupiter in 1980. He is a member of the American Psychological Association, and the Florida Psychological Association, and has been on staff as an Ancillary Health Care Provider with Jupiter Medical Center since 1986.

Early on in his career, Dr. Fiester was engaged in various research projects and is a senior author and co-author on 24 studies that have been published in peer reviewed professional journals including the prestigious American Psychologist and Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology.

Dr. Fiester has been married to Mrs. Linda Fiester, a retired speech pathologist, for 39 years. He has three grown children: Mrs. Mary Bowers (MBA), Mrs. Sarah D’Alessandro (MS-SLP), and Dr. Peter Fiester, M.D., as well as three grandchildren.

Fees & Insurance

Dr. Fiester’s fees are based on usual and customary fees charged by clinical psychologists in Palm Beach County, Florida. Dr. Fiester is a provider for Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Blue Options, and PPO plans which usually involve a small co-pay after annual deductibles are met. With the passage of the Mental Health Parity Law, which fully goes into effect in 2010, patients should expect improved insurance coverage for clinical psychology services.
